Day 14–Gulf Coast RV Resort , Beaumont, Texas

It was overcast this morning but no rain – finally.  Our plan was to secure a camp site just down the road from our friends in Nederland but when we called they were  all booked. The owner recommended we call Gulf Coast RV Resort in Beaumont. She stated that because  the economy in Texas was so good and the oil refineries so busy she was full most of the time.

She also shared her political views (Republican) and had  nothing but praise for Rick Perry, the Governor of Texas. We told her we were Republicans hoping that might get us a site (LOL) but to no avail.

We were able to get two nights at Gulf Coast and were settled in by 5 pm. Our friends  Del and Sandy picked us up and we went out to dinner at Pappadeaux, a local restaurant.

Our meals and service were phenomenal. My baked shrimp stuffed with crab meat were the best I have ever had and our Greek salads mixed and  served at the table was not only  enormous, but delicious beyond imagination. Ron, Del, and Sandi enjoyed their fried shrimp plates as well.

Because we were first timers at the restaurant we were given a free dessert. We were all stuffed so we brought it (chocolate turtle cake) home to eat later.

We had fun catching up and enjoyed lots of good conversation and laughs.

Not sure what we will be doing but we will be  getting together with Sandi ad Del tomorrow.
