Day 34–Ricon Country West RV Resort, Tucson, Arizona

We woke this morning to a  beautiful sunrise with electrifying clouds.

Because we had no internet access at our site we went into the library to look up CG’s in the Tucson area. Our Passport America 1/2 price card isn’t accepted in many CG’s during peak time here from January to March so we opted to stay at a real resort. Ron actually sprung for the cost of $40.00 per night. A new Ron is emerging. LOL

I don’t know if I mentioned this but because we are so close to Mexico there are Border Patrol Stations everywhere. We have stopped at several and getting to Tucson was no different.

Every vehicle that went through was subject to the drug sniffing dog.

When we arrived at the “Resort” we were pleasantly surprised. It truly is a resort. We have stayed at many resorts that use that term very loosely.

There are 1500 park models, manufactured homes and RV sites. Although a true resort everyone is packed in like sardines.

It’s a great place to get away from the cold and if you want to spend a lot of time in the park it has great amenities and multiple daily activities available.

We were quite impressed with the place but decided we are not ready to settle in too long. We  booked for one week since there is so much to see and do in the area.

Pretty at sunset!!

Later we went for some Mexican food at a local restaurant one mile down the road  that was quite delicious.

When we finally settled in for the night we were happy to have our internet access back making planning for Tuesday that much easier. We will be taking in the  Pima Air & Space Museum and the tram tours of the outside aircraft both at the museum and on the Air Force Base next door.  Looking forward to a day of exploring.
